BIRD WATCHING

In recent years Lesvos has gained notoriety as an important stopping point for migratory birds, attracting scientists and visitors from around the world to observe birds from Europe , Asia and Africa

Our Bird-watching guests report that the corner of Lesvos in which Eressos is situated is remarkably under-observed.  As well, large portions of Lesvos Island are accessible within an hour drive from Eressos.  Easily accessible are the wetlands of St. Paraskevi, Ntipi-Larsos and Skala Kalloni.  Just a few of the birds to be observed are the Flamingo (with its pink feathers), Black Stork, Avocet, Stilt, Kastanochina, Bee Eater and White Stork - just to name a few.
